Maintain the local Recruitment Policy framework and develop a robust attraction strategy, working with HR Systems, Marketing and Communications teams to articulate the University’s Employer Brand, develop and improve methods of promoting the University as an employer of choice and attract a pipeline of high-quality candidates to support the strategic goals of the Dubai campus.
Design and deliver consistent efficient recruitment and selection processes, agreeing standards and ensuring hiring managers are supported and guided through the process and the candidate experience is positive and engaging. Ensure the requirements relating to immigration/visa and right to work are fully documented and maintained effectively. Maximise the efficient use of Digital tools in support of both the process and the production of management information and performance measures.
Lead on strategies for the recruitment of all academic and professional services roles including senior leadership and specialist posts developing targeted campaigns as necessary to support key strategic hires. Develop recruitment and selection plans for all key posts, engaging Head-hunters and Agencies where appropriate and managing the business relationships accordingly.
Contribute to the review and revision of HR Policies and Reward strategies and supporting procedures for the Dubai Campus and provide coaching and guidance to managers and HR Colleagues to further enhance the HR Service for the Campus.
Work with the Head of HR in Dubai and the Global HR team to develop, adapt and implement OD strategies and initiatives. This will include producing an annual Learning and Development plan for the campus in conjunction with Dubai managers, drawing on global programmes wherever possible.
Lead the deployment of EDI initiatives in the Dubai campus
Provide HR generalist operational support as required and cover for the Head of HR in Dubai as necessary. Contribute to HR-related projects to support and influence the strategic direction of the Directorate and University such as onboarding and induction.
Provide standard reports for statutory, benchmark and internal reporting requirements.
As a member of the global HR Directorate, work collaboratively with HR colleagues across the wider HR Function to ensure that a ‘one HR’/consistent service is provided to the organisation, working in partnership with managers and other professional services.
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
Essential

Educated to first degree level or equivalent (see link for details) or equivalent practical experience in the workplace
Competent in the use of relevant IT packages and ideally applicant tracking systems such as Oracle or Taleo
Proven relevant experience as a recruiter, either from a recruitment agency or from an in-house team, across the recruitment lifecycle from understanding job descriptions to writing compelling advertising and managing from planning to delivery of key talent, where you would have had success in targeting both passive and active candidates (experience in HE sector would be beneficial)
Good knowledge and understanding of relevant legal, statutory and governance frameworks and turning them into good practice

Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Co-ordinate accreditation, review and audit events (and produce reports where required from such events) for the approval and re-approval of the University’s programmes. This includes both those required by the University’s internal processes and those required by UK and non-UK government Authorities / external agencies, including KHDA, CAA and MoE in the UAE
Draft Dubai contributions for annual reporting requirements, eg University Committee of Quality and Standards, Scottish Funding Council, etc

Represent the Dubai campus, and maintain strong working relationships, with local regulatory authorities under the direction of the Academic Quality Manager
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including other Professional Service teams and academic colleagues
Provide advice and guidance on standard inquiries regarding Academic Quality policies and procedures and local regulatory and accreditation requirements

Provide support as needed for approval, review and renewal of the University’s external partnership agreements, including Partner Annual Monitoring and Review, and collaborate with International Development colleagues in associated policy and procedure developments
Collaborate with the Programme Director of the University’s foundation programmes at the Dubai and Malaysia Campuses in the Annual Monitoring and Review, putting in place an enhancement-led approach to the process

Purpose of Role:

Heriot Watt is entering an exciting phase in terms of development of its professional services. We have centralised and re-aligned our recruitment and Admissions Teams in Edinburgh and are embarking on a journey to develop a new structure for our Dubai Campus and recruitment hub.

Reporting to the Student Recruitment Manager or Admissions Manager depending on responsibility, the successful candidate will take the responsibility for coordinating and delivering a range of activities that enable Heriot Watt Dubai to achieve its ambitious student recruitment and admissions targets for both UG, PG and research degrees. Student Recruitment Assistants are responsible for delivering customer facing events, both on and off campus, delivering customer service activities for all prospective students, ensuring the university is promoted in relevant and attractive ways. This role requires focus on proactive robust follow-up service to convert prospects into enrolled students and processing of admissions applications.

Based in the Student Recruitment and Admissions Team of our Dubai campus you will work as part of the team that provides an exceptional level of customer service to all prospective students and applicants to the University guiding them from first point of contact through to enrolment. You will be the first point of contact for phone calls and emails and respond to these within agreed response times ensuring the needs of the enquirer are met and making full use of enquiry management and CRM systems in place. As part of the admissions function, the role also requires you will work as part of the team which provides administrative support for the direct application processes.

Bringing together your passion for education and customer care, you will have exceptional interpersonal skills, attention to detail and be a self-starter who can support prospective students while they embark on their journey with Heriot Watt.

Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities

You will be part of the team providing a high-quality front-line service to all enquirers to the University. Your main duties will be to respond to enquirers by phone or email, dealing with day-to-day queries at events and providing support for prospective students throughout their journey to Heriot Watt and assist with application processing. You will be working under the guidance of Student Recruitment Manager or Admissions Manager in Dubai.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Act as an ambassador for the University to a wide range of stakeholders, notably prospective students, parents and working professionals,
Always provide an exceptional applicant experience and the delivery of a customer-focused service and experience to optimise recruitment and conversion objectives, utilising the CRM system to track all engagements with HW prospective students,
Support optimisation of lead capture as part of the enquiries process and in line with feedback from prospective students,

Provide support and guidance to our student interns on a wide range of enquiries relating to student recruitment,

Attend and assist with execution of internal and external student recruitment events including open days, PG Masterclass, Virtual events/workshops, offer holder events and recruitment fairs, both at the campus, in-schools and at external student recruitment fairs to provide information, advice and guidance on the University’s portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes to prospective students
Capture and maintain scholarship data for new undergraduate and postgraduate students
To set up and maintain a calendar of student recruitment events, manage enquiries, and bookings and work with the CRM team to coordinate pre-event and follow up communications to maximise attendance for the assigned programme,

Assist the Domestic Recruitment Manager, Student Recruitment Officer, Admission Manger, with manging the student ambassador scheme within the Student Recruitment team to ensure events and other recruitment activities are effectively staffed and represented to maximise conversion and ultimate enrolment of prospective students,
To establish and maintain an effective network of contacts externally and in Schools and Services, and to work effectively with these contacts to maximise our student recruitment potential,
Supporting the Admissions Manager in all daily processes related to application management,
Ensuring that all applicants are provided with the necessary information and correspondence throughout the year,

Maintain a thorough knowledge of the University’s admissions policy, including assessment / selection and entry criteria and keep abreast of changes to admissions procedures .
To participate in all marketing activities and other areas of work within Marketing, Student Recruitment, and admissions as required,
